The guidelines

FindBack has one purpose: getting lost things back to the people who lost them. These principles keep it that way — no fees, no reselling, no games.

Please do

  • Post real lost or found items with honest, specific details
  • Use clear photos that actually show the item
  • Verify ownership by asking for identifying details
  • Keep conversations kind, even when things are stressful
  • Mark an item returned once it's back with its owner
  • Report listings that look like scams or resales

Please don't

  • List items for sale — FindBack is not a marketplace
  • Demand payment, rewards up front, or gift cards to return something
  • Post someone else's belongings without their knowledge
  • Share another person's private contact details publicly
  • Repost the same item repeatedly to climb the feed
  • Harass, threaten, or pressure other members

Enforcement

We review every report from the community. Listings that break these guidelines are removed, and repeat or serious violations — scams, threats, harassment — lead to account removal. When in doubt, choose kindness and reach out.
